And here we are. Next week is Halloween. And I purchased a big bag of candy, but sadly, it won't be making it to its intended destination of children's trick or treat bags. This is always the time of year that starts zipping by like a turbo-charged flying unicorn and a triple espresso with a Mountain Dew chaser.
That's why I'm taking just a couple of minutes to talk about the right now. Because I will blink and we'll be receiving our first visit from Toadie, our Elf on the shelf. And then I'll have to figure out how to erect a Christmas tree atop a pool table because I don't think our new insurance plan happens to cover medical disasters of ornamental proportions.
Right Now...
- Our days are filled with constant new sights, sounds, and observations.
- People are enjoying the outdoors again in the valley of the sun.
- We have replaced our trips to the mall with trips to the park to play and watch the ducks.
- Jackson has gone from grunting to verbalizing.
- He makes a gesture which lets me know it is time to brush his teeth. Except he doesn't want me doing it anymore because HE handles the toothbrush, thankyouverymuch.
- He tells me when something may or may not be hot by shouting "OTT! OTT!"
- He dances, plays the harmonica, and has a special hiding place for alphabet blocks that Mommy hasn't found yet.
- I have to watch his fingers like a spy hawk when we're reading books that have pull tabs or lift the flaps, because he takes these kinds of challenges very seriously and so now I'm all out of super glue. (To the little mouse with no more whiskers, I'm truly very sorry)
- Kayleigh is very busy with school projects, Halloween dance/parties, and helping with Jackie.
- Both of our businesses, the sports cards store and the laundromat, are busy and thriving.
- And if anyone gets me for Secret Santa, I'm all out of chip clips and super glue.
We are very happy to be busy. And we are looking forward to celebrating, sharing memories, and creating new family traditions together.
How are you handling Octoblur?
P.S. Special thanks to Ashley and Lisa at the The Dose of Reality for teaching me about Magisto video maker!

ReplyDeleteYou are so right about October being Octoblur!! I laughed when I read "two months until Christmas" because how silly...then I realized...that is not a joke because THERE ARE TWO MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!! GAH!!!
Love all the things that are going on in your neck of the woods right now. OTT OTT...oh, that brings back the memories. :) --Lisa
